Rotational Leadership Program
Steve Powers
How did you start working at Optimax?
Completely by coincidence – in high school, I was supposed to participate in a job shadow to learn about equipment, but I was sent to Optimax and never left.
What is one of the most valuable things you’ve learned from being at Optimax?
Working here has given me hands-on experience – from implementing applications to working as part of a team with people of different mindsets and skill sets. It’s helped me build a solid foundation for my career.
How would you describe the rotational aspect of the program?
Making optics always has been and always will be an art form. Rotating to the different areas of the shop allows you to see all of the various ways of doing things.
Would you recommend the rotational program to other engineers?
Yes. This program helps you discover which engineering role is the best fit for you within Optimax. The hands-on experience gained from this program prepares you to take on the real-life challenges of any job.
